Waist Beads

Waist Beads

Waist beads are a traditional African accessory that consist of small beads on a string or wire worn around the waist. They are a symbol of femininity, fertility, sensuality, and spiritual well-being. Many women around the world use waist beads in intimate settings to enhance their sensuality. Waist beads can help a person become more aware of their stomach and posture; commonly used to gauge changes in weight. Many also wear waist beads as just accessories.

  • How to measure your waist

Please do not use your clothing sizes as your waist size for the waist beads. Use measuring tape for a more precise size, measure your bare skin where you would like the beads to fall (please not too tight nor too loose). Measure a little lower if you would like your beads to fall below your belly botton.

If you’ve never worn waist beads before, measure right below your belly button.
